So I get home from work Friday night, and what's the first thing I want to do? Duh, check the weather of my mission. Cold. Second thing? Duh, see my temple! Well I go here, and to my great astonishment, it's the very same temple I've had on my desktop for the past three months.

Yeah.

The best news first: I got ordained today! I'm now an Elder in the Melchizedek priesthood for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Wooot. I'm so thankful for all the blessings the Lord has given me, and this is definitely one of them. Two other guys also got ordained before me, and Bishop Richards talked a little about each one of us before each ordination. For me he said that he had gotten ahold of an email conversation between Dan, Sean and I talking to each other, and he talked about the incredible friendship we have. I'd never really thought about our actual friendship before... just the actual guys, Dan and Sean and how much I miss them, haha. Anyway he talked about the strength of our friendship and the strength we give each other, and how much we really do love each other. I'd always thought of it as normal, because it always has been normal, but really, it's extraordinary. There's nothing we wouldn't do for each other, and I really do love those guys with all of my heart. They're my best friends and I know we'll be bffs forever.

Better news: Ok I didn't really have better news, I just wanted to have a witty blog title referencing something else.

Good news: My Stake president interview got postponed a few weeks. The secretary must have somehow got the dates mixed up, and set the appointment a week late, and now he and the Stake president is gone for the next two or three weeks. I don't blame him or anything, and I'm not mad, so don't take the previous information as blame, I'm just letting you all know what happened.
So I'm sure you're all thinking "whaaaaaat why does Cody think this is good news, why doesn't he want to leave already, blah blah blah." I assure you, this is not the case. I want to leave ASAP, but I know that the Lord is in complete control, and I trust Him completely. So no worries :)

I donno why I was so nervous about going with the missionaries, it was the easiest thing in the world, haha. We taught an investigator's first lesson, and it was rad. Then we went to an inactive's house but she wasn't feeling well so we talked to her husband for like 2 seconds at the door about randomness. Then we went by another person's house but she wasn't home. All in all pretty fun though... the missionaries were really fun to hang out with! They're my age! Craaaaazyyyyyyyy, haha. Thats so weird. Also one of the missionaries has the same suit as me, he even bought it from the same store. Anyway they say they're going to take me tracting next time, haha. Pretty excited for that.

Sooooo next Tuesday (not tomorrow) I'm having my Stake pres interview... which means I'll have my papers in then! I'm sooooo excited to finally get out and go. I hope I just get my call emailed to me and they're like hey can you be at the MTC tomorrow? I'd be down with that. Probably not likely though.

I finally get to work a full week this week, Sunday-(probably) Sat. And probably Sunday too. And hopefully every day of the next week too, haha. Money in the bank! I think I'll use the money to buy a Wii for my mission when its going slow. jkjkjkjk. I wouldn't do that.

Today I got sustained in stake conference to become an elder in the Melchizedek priesthood of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Pretty rad.

Now I'm off to stupid work. I guess that's what I get for wanting more hours. I only ask for Sundays off, tell them I can work all day EVERY day of ANY day besides Sunday, and when do they make me work? Sundays of course.

After that I'll be going out with the missionaries. That's pretty exciting too.................but I'm super scared. I've never done it before and I have no idea what it's going to be like.

Early June Update

GUESS WHAT. Yeah thats right, I had my Stake Presidency interview for getting the Melchizedek priesthood. I'm not sure if that doubles as mission interview or triples as a temple recommend interview or quadruples as a patriarchal blessing interview... we'll see. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm not messing around, I'm just doing things right. And I don't want to hear comments like "finally" or "sheesh take long enough?" :P Love you all, I'll try to keep the blog updated so you all know the status.

Also I started work the other day at the waterpark. It's fun, but I don't work enough hours.

ALSO, when I get my call... I'm thinking that I'll have Mom/Dad record it as a video and then I can upload it to the intarwebs... would you all like me to call you and tell you where I'm going, or call you and say hey watch the video...or what? March Update

I figure I'll name it March update, because I don't know if I'll post again in March. ANYSHWAYS...

School is going great. I just got out of diving, and it was REALLY fun today. We basically played HORSE (the popular basketball game), where the professor would do a dive and we copy it. Anyway, with the added pressure I finally broke my comfort barrier and did some new dives. For the first time, I did a front one and a half dive, back pike dive, and an inward dive. (For those divers out there, thats 103C, 201B, and 401C)

For some time, I've had an idea of what I want to do with my life. As most, if not all of you know, I want to be an architect/engineer and start a house building company with Dan and Sean. A few weeks ago, a random idea popped into my head that I wanted to become extremely rich, but for the sole reason of building up impoverished communities and countries into more successful ones. I have no real plan, but I have the general idea that I would design, fund, and oversee the building of schools and colleges first, then residential and commercial buildings, so that the people can be self sustaining. I've always known that if my desires are in alignment with the Lord's, that my goals will be accomplished. Well today in my Doctrine and Covenants class, we were going over the Law of Consecration and Stewardship. I began to ponder on my life's plan, and I had an overwhelming sense that I would be successful if I dedicated myself to the Lord and tried my hardest at achieving my goal. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that this could happen as long as I keep the Lord first.

w00t! I'm officially a sophomore.

Which, in reality, means nothing.

Also, I did a philosophy essay a couple weeks ago, and ended up getting the highest grade in the class. I just wrote another one today (unfortunately I procrastinated on it) but I still feel it's pretty solid. I'm proud of myself and how far my writing skills have come since high school. Must be the tons of practice I got in the year 2007.

I'm sorry it's been 3 months since I last updated. I just find it really hard to update blogs. I blame genetics. Anyway school is going well, not much to report. MAINLY I just wanted to let everyone know that I've nearly completed my mission application, all I need to do is submit a picture. AND speaking of pictures:

I'll need to find some photoshop to mess with the sizing before I submit it, but yeah. I got a haircut and a suit. It's pretty rad.
I'll probably use the top one even though I'm smiling in the bottom one, because the smiley one is slightly blurry, and me being me, I hate bad photographs.

The (Distant) Future

I'm pretty sure this would be a sweet plan. I want to major in business, because this is a universal tool that will never go out of date. I mean business has been around for like... at least a billion years. Plus maybe I could minor in graphic design. THENNNN Sean could major in construction management (BTW BYU's placement for CM majors is 100%, or so I hear), and Dan could major in... IDK, being a cool guy. THENNNNNNN we start a business together, building houses! And since we're all BFFs (IDK, my BFF Dan and Sean?) we'd make amazing business partners and we'll be incredibly successful and awesome.

back on track

I'm so proud of myself, and normally I would just "brag" face to face (and already have) about my recent accomplishments, but I just want everyone to know now. In case you didn't know, I left BYU in 2006 mid-semester, and thus recieved an E in all my classes (the equivalent of an F, but saying you suck for leaving instead of you suck at knowledge). Oct of 2007 I moved back to Provo with the intention of going back to school for Winter '08. I am currently taking three online classes, one of which I recently completed with an A-. This brought my GPA up from 1.09 to 1.53! Once the other two classes are completed I expect to have a 2.6 GPA, assuming I get an average of an A- in both classes (which will be hard, considering my Geo class is stupid).

Another academic accomplishment that I finally got recognized was the submission of my AP scores to BYU! For some reason, they didn't get sent to BYU, and last week I got them turned in. This added 19 credits on top of my 6 from summer and 2 from the completed class, for a grand total of 27 current credits! Once I finish the other two classes, I will have 32 credits, making me officially a sophomore. And no, the AP credits do not effect my GPA.
